The Zappin Group!
Welcome to a page created by an independent recording artist. A venue to display all of his music and highlight his son, Andrew's films.
Music and lyrics are all original and written by "Zappin."
My first record, "A Father's Tear", was dedicated to my father, after his death in 2005. The music and lyrics came pretty quickly as did the recording process, which was engineered at SoundSpace Studios in Yellow Springs, Oho. The mixing and mastering of the tunes proved to be a real challenge and learning experience.
"Exile To Spring St. was the name of my next record o CD. Written as a kind of goodbye, or see you, to a town with no pitny without peering back. The tunes were tense and showed another side.

Many thanks go way out to Duke Dewey for producing "A Father's Tear" and playing sensational drums on both records. Junior Smith who can play almost any instrument extremely well added bass guitar to all tracks as well as the ending guitar solo on "The Faith Club, orchestrated all of the tunes, and produced much of "Exile..." Steven Cheney, my acoustic friend and courageous carpenter, used his guitar to texture-wrap the music. Brian Walker played Keyboards on "Exile...". Brian took the music, listened to it, then came in the studio and added his part without hesitation or question. A very tasteful musician. Franny reichart, Jeananne Tuner-Smith, and Donn Jones, did their best to make me sound occasionally half-way decent. Chris Hertzler, the owner of SoundSpace studios and lead engineer, led me patiently through the recording process, well mostly patient. without Chris' help my recordings would never have been of such excellent quality. Currently, we are collaborating on my third album.
